The new class schedule is up for the next session of classes. lascrucesdogsports.com/calendar-of-events/ All the classes Monday-Wednesday will remain the at the same time and day (there are a few name changes in the classes (Agility Foundations turns to Beginning Agility). There will be a couple classes that skip a week for spring break (Kim) and AKC Nationals (Sandra), but those dates are on the calendar.
The good news is Hope Movsesian is BACK!!! She will be teaching her Doggie Manners class again starting March 1st at 5:30pm!!! This is an excellent class for relationship building and focus and engagement. She has some great ideas and has really put a lot of thought and work in to her classes. Don't miss out!
Unfortunately, Kyle is going to take a little break from her Special Topics class. She may drop in for some mini sessions, but will not be holding a full set of classes on Thursdays once the current class finishes.
We also have a few spots available in Joan Meyer's Agility Seminar for all sessions except Saturday AM. I have attached the flyer on the class descriptions. If you are interested please email Kyle Schumacher at onelaststorm @ yahoo.com (remove all the spaces).
Looks like with the super busy trial schedule and seminars, we will not have time for a Fun Run in March. We will look at dates in April and let everyone know.
Once again, thank you for all your efforts and dedication to your furry friends. We appreciate all the hard work you put into training!!!
Have a good evening and please let me know if you have any questions. ...
The new class calendar is on the website! We are pretty much keeping things the same with the exception of adding Agility Foundations and Canine Fitness Foundations on Tuesday evenings and a small time adjustment Monday evening.
I am very excited to teach the fitness class. I recently finished my CCFT (Certified Canine Fitness Trainer) Certification. Here is the class description. In this class we will cover all the foundation behaviors for fitness. We will work on all the basic movements and discuss a balanced fitness program to include cardio, balance, strength, mental fitness and flexibility. We will also work on proper warm-up and cool down techniques as well as discuss stretching. This class is appropriate for all levels of fitness regardless of age or experience level.
Also, there are two Fun Runs on the calendar. One is January 27th at noon and the other is February 18th at 1 pm. Fun Runs are for anyone wanting to practice on the course who has completed Beginning Agility (or has instructor approval). Fun runs are a great way to start to expose dogs to a trial-like environment. You will get two minutes to practice on the course. There will be two courses set up (one in each ring) and only you will be running on that course during your time. Cost is $10 per dog for the whole fun run and we will rotate between courses as many times as possible. You must RSVP at least 24 hours before the fun run with your dog's name and jump height.
